Lady Gaga Remix
Ok, I am starting to see challenges being put forth. I will address them one at a time, in a sqrt type delayed reaction First, Ian a while back before Jesus' B-Day issued a remix challenge, or something like that. He said do funny. I broke some shit out those next two day's and had a couple of ideas working. Then I spaced out. I am now responding with a funny little blip to this challenge. 1:48 chunk of chopped up Lady Gaga song called "Just Dance." It would have been longer, but I didn't have the patience to do the 3rd verse, this song blows squirels.
On another note, 808's and Heartbreaks is a nice name, but it be whinny.
It should have been 303's and double D's.
What would Dre do?
STANKY LEG! stanky litter box.
The crazy thing is this video has 82,000 plus views now, which is 20,000 more than when I saw it last week, and another 20,000 more than when i saw it the week before. These two are blowin' up!
Faithfully yours

We are the robots.......
This is a MGMT video, robots programmed by Aaron Fetcher.
This is an Usher video programmed by Chris Thrash. It's "make love in this club" and I'm sure someone out there might by influences to make love to a robot in an animal suit in a pizza restaraunt by this.
If you poke around online you'll see that there is a little controversy surrounding this band of robots because of some videos by Thrash (a former associate{?} who owns a "rock afire explosion", as per his childhood dream) went viral. If you want to begin to peer down this rabbit-hole, check out this video of Mr. Thrash.
and then check out this thread.
more as this story develops.

Seriously though. The Emergen-C is better than coffee sometimes. Like now when anything too exciting makes me feel like my heart is going to burst through my chest and start stalking Sigourney Weaver.

Good afternoon gentlemen...
I wish this was where I went to elemetary school . .
Didn't we have a buda pledge in A-town? We always made good choices- see yard of beef, see Evan Williams plus Gin, see records flying across road, see glass breaking. I took the buda pledge.

Gansta
The old lady has been updating her blog from our travels over the pond, and she posted this shit on it, which I didn't even see her take. Figured you all would find it amusing. It was kinda funny, I would walk down the street and people got the fuck out of my way.
escape from NY
Don't bother with customer service courtesies without a good lie handy. My friend and I wrangled an avis rental with "My favorite aunt Alice died and i have to get home fast because uncle Jesse is deranged." Stick to the lie and sound more distressed at every jag in rental policy... Jerry Mcguire that shit.
It'll feel a little like surfing out of the city with flames licking your heels but it beats the bus.
see you in winston.

explorations of Lynchian tropes
I recently saw this endurance testing film breaking down the complexities of cinema. Hosted by Slovoj Zizek the film goes through different elements of cinema exposing them primarily with psychoanalytical tools. Heavily referencing Freudian concepts of ego, id, superego, libido, etc. we're let in on some ways which we relate to the structures and narrative devices of film. The presentation is really quite arresting, film clips are shown then Zizek literally places himself in the scenes he is referencing. One of my favorite examples is when he's talking about 'The Conversation' (ff coppola, 1974, starring gene hackman) and is sitting in the bathroom where Harry (Hackman) discovers that murder evidence has been flushed down the toilet (by way of blood overflowing out of the toilet). At one point an analogy is made between the overflowing toilet and cinema itself...pretty funny stuff. Charlie Chaplin, Hitchcock, and David Lynch serve as central figures around with the theories proposed revolve. Its a bit long but ultimately a valuable thing for the toolbox.

Jeff Shore and Jon Fisher: Reel to Reel
But it still looked cool to post. Installation art and wires and records.
The blurb from http://www.kemperart.org/exhibits/Reeltoreel_2008.asp
"Fashioned from wood, wires, lights, motors, and automated video and audio components, Reel to Reel is a sculptural video installation by Texas-based artists Jeff Shore and Jon Fisher. Working collaboratively since 2002, Shore and Fisher have constructed a complex network of floor- and wall-based kinetic sculptures, each containing a mechanized film set or an electro-acoustic instrument. Once activated, Reel to Reel delivers a multisensory experience that is both poetic and captivating, advancing dialogues between the history of cinema and music, and human interaction with new technologies. The exhibition is co-organized by the Kemper Museum and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, North Carolina.

ok ok ok
alright so, favorite album of the year?
i've already put in my vote for the bbml record but i do think that the latest
Autechre: Quaristice is an amazing little thing of a record. it lacks a serious headbanger
but, with the exception of one or two tracks, the whole thing is solid. (and you can't really
fuck with chenc9...classic autechre.)
who's up?
